So What does $1 Billion Dollars Look Like?

A billion dollars… A hundred billion dollars… Eight hundred billion dollars… One TRILLION dollars…

It’s the sort of question that would keep you up at night, “how many pallets would I need to transfer my $1 billion bucks down to the bank? What does that look like?”

We’ll start with a $100 dollar bill. Currently the largest U.S. denomination in general circulation. Most everyone has seen them, slightly fewer have owned them. Guaranteed to make friends wherever they go.

$100

A packet of one hundred $100 bills is less than 1/2″ thick and contains $10,000. Fits in your pocket easily and is more than enough for week or two of shamefully decadent fun.

Believe it or not, but $1 million dollars (100 packets of $10,000) you could easily stuff into a grocery bag and walk around with it.

And $1 BILLION dollars…

$1 billion dollars

One Billion Dollar is stacked on 12 standard pallets, altogether 10 million 100 USD notes. One Billion Dollar is not so much about what you see but what you could do or not do with the money. Besides, this is the most expensive piece of art ever made.

Next we’ll look at ONE TRILLION dollars. This is that number we’ve been hearing so much about. What is a trillion dollars? Well, it’s a million million. It’s a thousand billion. It’s a one followed by 12 zeros.

Are you ready for this? It’s pretty surprising.

Notice those pallets are double stacked.

And now when you read that Forex trading volume exceeds $4 trillion per day you can easily imagine what does it look like.
