Nagoya is at its prettiest from late March to late April, during the popular Cherry Blossom Festival. Lush cherry trees beckon you into gardens and parks all over the city.
During the day find various festivities underway in these settings, like tea parties, picnics and so on. Buy snacks and drinks from vendors and enjoy these beneath the fruit-laden branches that bend down to embrace you.
The night-time experience is by far however, the most magical one when the blossoming trees are lit up. A popular place at this time of year is the historic Nagoya Castle. Note that due to the nature of the festival, dates are always approximate.
