Oprah Winfrey had Diana Ross on her show today and to Oprah, it doesn’t get any better than that! Diana brought her five children with her and gave an unforgettable performance of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”
“I have to really keep myself from going into the ugly cry,” Oprah said on The Oprah Winfrey Show about her interview with Diana. “Because of how much this legend, this woman means to me and my life. … I’m going to try to keep it together.”
And Diana is not only a music legend, but she’s the mother of five children!
“Being a parent is very important to me,” Diana said of her children Rhonda, Tracee, Chudney, Ross and Evan.
And her children think she did a good job raising them.
“There was a sense of routine and normalcy,” her daughter Tracee explained.
But she also encouraged them to follow their dreams.
“Somehow, despite how large her career and her persona [have] been, she has helped us not feel in her shadow,” Diana’s oldest daughter, Rhonda, said. “We can be ourselves. She somehow helped us to have that.”
And Diana wants to continue to fulfill her love of singing and says there is only one way she would stop.
“I think that if my voice for some reason changes—because your voice does change—then it’s time for me not to sing.”
But that time has not come yet!
